Money, Money, Rupiah.

Hey Gang! So the first official duty that makes me feel like our holiday is very near (we leave tomorrow!) is the fact that I went to the Amex travel office yesterday to exchange US dollars for Indonesian Rupiah. Indonesian Rupiah, I just learned, are different from Rupees, which is the currency used in India. And get this...the Amex office actually didn't even have Rupiah in stock, so they had to order them! Luckily, we got them in in time! The current exchange rate is 1.00 USD = 9,307.97 IDR, and the money was so pretty and looks like so much (it's actually only 400 USD's worth) that I had to take a picture of it:

Makes me sorta wish our money was more colorful!

Stay tuned for more pictures and even video from our Balinese Adventure!!

Cheers,

Daria & Emmett

Hi, nice blog!
Do you mind if I use your colourful photo of the Rupiahs for a blog I am writing?

Thank you!
